Barrie Hullegie, photographer
‘I grew up in a small village surrounded by forests, where nature became my sanctuary and shaped my creative vision. After moving to the city to study graphic design, I discovered photography and fell in love with its ability to tell stories and evoke emotion, which led me to explore print media like zines and photo books. In 2018, my solo exhibition Masculinities and my zine A’E marked pivotal moments in my career, delving into themes of identity and the human body. Co-founding Poster Boy in 2020 allowed me to reimagine male identity through a modern lens, blending my passion for fashion and portrait photography with storytelling. Today, I’m working on a project capturing the vibrant energy of Georgian youth in Tbilisi, while Paris, with its rich culture and vitality, remains a constant source of inspiration.’
Hullegie received his BA from the Royal Academy of Arts in The Hague and is currently based in Paris.
