Xaviera Aubri, fashion stylist & editor
‘Both personally and professionally, travel has always been invaluable to me, an essential education. Exploring diverse cultures and immersing myself in unfamiliar landscapes have enriched my perspective as a fashion professional. While studying and then graduating cum laude from HKU (University of the Arts in Utrecht) I spent all my after-school hours on assistant styling jobs. My move to London then cemented my love for styling. When I came back, I started out as a fashion editor for publisher Hearst. On a personal note, I hail from a diverse background, with Asian, Afro-Caribbean, Dutch and French roots. My mother instilled in me a love for art, literature, and design. In my two-decade-long career, inclusivity and diversity have been important cornerstones; I’ve been committed to championing a vast spectrum of models, personalities, and collaborators. What’s also typical about my way of working is the amount of research I do during pre-production phases, because to me depth of understanding is paramount to the process. Lately I have been inspired by ancient jewelry and the reimagination of historic ornaments in contemporary fashion.’
